Live Dead: Day 16

Today’s topic was was having a willing heart; but today’s challenge was to research Somalia, Sudan, Comoros, Eritrea, and Djbouti.  If God called me to one of those place, to reach an unreached people group, would my heart be willing?

Here’s what I learned:

Somalia: What a mess.  It’s sad to read about all the devastation to the economy, government, infrastructure and health of the entire country.  It’s war torn, there’s civil unrest, poverty, starvation and much more.  Just about all the people are muslim and don’t know Jesus.

Sudan: Reading the history of the Sudan is just war story after war story.  I read the word conflict more in 3 paragraphs than in any other thing I’ve read about anything.  Being in the Middle East, it’s not friendly to Christians and there aren’t many there.  It seemed like the Sudan is a the bully of many of the countries around it.

Comoros: I’d never heard of Comoros before.  Over half the people in this small (3rd smallest in Africa) country live below the international poverty live ($1.25US).

Eritrea and Djbouti: Many different people groups on the prayer focus days have been from these two nations.  Both places desperately need to hear about Jesus, but have been largely inaccessible.  I’m still praying for workers to be sent.
