Live Dead: Day 2

“And people who do not know the Lord ask why in the world we waste our lives as missionaries.  They forget that they too are expending their lives and when the bubble has burst they will have nothing of eternal significance to show for the years they have wasted” -Nate Saint, Martyr

Yesterday went pretty awesome.  I knocked out Deuteronomy; and I know I saw 11 Toyota’s because I was counting each time I had the chance to randomly pray.  Today’s devotional entry was about Lost things, and most importantly, people.  It re-focuses the Prodigal Son story to be about the heart of the Father whose son was lost.

It’s amazing how Christians, myself included, can live day to day without feeling anything towards lost people.  Following Jesus means you believe that you have the One Truth that people need to hear.  Those who don’t accept that truth, are destined to spend eternity separated from God.  Why then don’t we have a greater sense of urgency in spreading the Good News about Jesus?  Why then are we not broken, over lost family, friends, and even the stranger walking by?

Today my focus is on trying to get the heart of God for people who are in desperate need of knowing who He is.  My prayer focus is on the Tigre nomads in the Sudan and Eritrean lowlands.  They are an oppressed group of Muslims.  Join me today in praying for missionaries to be sent to them, for the Bible to be translated for them, and for an openness to hearing about Jesus.
