The Next Chapter

One year ago to the day, I preached my final message at Cornerstone Community Church after returning from an amazing trip to Swaziland.  We’d felt God calling us to resign, but didn’t know where to go next.  Still, we knew what God spoke to us and so we left.  It’s been a difficult but necessary year.  We’ve appreciated all the support and prayers of everyone through the ups and downs of interviews and close calls.  Fortunately, we didn’t get any of those other jobs.  Even though there were some great churches, they weren’t where God wanted us.

During the interim time, I’ve been fortunate to work with the amazing District Student Ministry team at events.  I’ve had the privilege to travel and guest speak at youth ministries and churches on Sunday mornings.  And I’ve been blessed to serve with a great pastor in Pollock Pines.  It literally took a year to the day before I was ready to say yes to the next chapter.

So, as of today, Amanda, our kids and I are officially heading to Rio Vista, Ca to restart a church as Senior Pastors.  There is a lot to do, and a lot to still figure out but we are incredibly excited about the community, the people, and about Jesus!  The idea of a fresh restart is a little intimidating but we know God will provide as He always has.  We covet your prayers, and welcome any financial support 🙂 but most importantly the relationships of people who care about us.

We look forward to keeping you updated and thank you for the support, love, and prayers over the last year.
