Live Dead: Day 11

I’m back at the office today making up for some sick days earlier this week, and drinking my first shakeology in months while listening to Rapture Ruckus.  Today’s reading was more informational about the need in Somalia, and how people need to get to the place where you’re ok going somewhere, if God calls you, even if it means losing your life.

I don’t think I’m there 100%, because I have a wife and kids to take care of.  Sometimes I think I would go anywhere God wanted, as long as it would be safe for my kids.  That really isn’t what God calls His people to do though.  I want to serve God, step out of my comfort zone, but not really my safety zone.

The chapter makes the best point I’ve heard on this subject: “It wasn’t safe for Jesus to love you; it was deadly.”  If God were to call you, or me, to go or do something where it was deadly, could you say, “yes”?  Jesus gave his life, the ultimate sacrifice of love.  Would I so love lost people that I’d give my life for them.  I want to be at the place where I say yes, but I know I’m not right now.

The world needs people willing to go wherever God calls, willing to give whatever it takes.  Get to that place, so you can go to that place.
