1 Thessalonians 2:8 “We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.”
As I read today’s entry, I was listening to Hillsong’s Tear Down the Walls, which happened to be the title of this mornings reading. Near the end, the mention of this verse came up, and blew me away. How much do I care about the people God has called me to reach? Certainly enough to share the Good News about Jesus, but do I care enough to let them in to my own life?
Sure, there need to be boundaries. But I’m a private person, and have guarded my family tightly. It’s been difficult to connect and be open like today’s entry challenged. We aren’t well connected to others in the area who also have young kids, and we find ourselves often thinking how we want to “Do life together” with people in a similar stage of life as us. Today’s challenge was a good one, we need to go beyond just reaching out with the News about Jesus, and share our life with others as we live it more. I’m challenged with that, but ready to step out and make the changes.
