The NIV Essentials Study Bible is a study bible encompassing 6 total NIV study resources. This study bible is packed full of notes, maps, timelines, and other study resources, and has a full appendix as well. It is an NIV translation, so it is pretty common language for the reader. I have the hardcover bible, and it isn’t an awe inspiring cover, but it is fine for what it is.
I really like this Bible. I think the verse commentary, combined with all the study tools makes this a fairly decent study bible for a starting personal library. The Dig Deeper closer look feature is a cool tool for getting some context of who the original audience was. The book introductions are thorough and full of information. There are also several pieces for personal application. Overall, this bible encompasses a lot of features found in separate study tools, and has put them into one place. The layout of bible, notes, and breakout study tools, along with the text and formatting make this an easy tool to use. I recommend it
